In 2007 representatives of Road Trauma Support Services met with the Hon Tim Holding, Minister for Transport Accident Commission, to discuss the need for a permanent memorial site/concept in recognition of the loss of life and injury on Victorian roads. As a result, initial funding from TAC has been provided to further this aim. A Steering Committee, including Jeanette Suhr OAM, has been established, and a series of community consultations has commenced.
